The greenhouse industry is often looked upon as fossil fuel wasting, CO2 emitting, labor migrant exploiting and surface water polluting. Nevertheless, Dutch grower Koppert Cress was awarded ‘most sustainable company’ in the Netherlands a few years ago. The company produces microgreens and other vegetables for international gastronomy and is well on its way to do this climate-positive in 2026.
